Thanks for the additional info.  I don't remember whether ACE 5.5
handled EINTR properly, so I recommend you upgrade to ACE 5.6.2 and see
if things work better.  Likewise, you could also try running this stuff
in your debugger to see what's going on and why restart isn't occurring
automagically.
