the error message is emitted by "...\tao\Object.cpp" in its global "operator>>" function. If I understood you correctly you would get a debugger break at that location?

Are there other possibilities to increase the TAO logging output than ORB logging at level 10?

Looks there is something going wrong when demarshaling an object reference from the CDR stream, not all profiles are there. Hard to tell what is failing exactly without a debugger and probably additional logging.
