(the list doesn't seem to accept my emails, bouncing back to you, pls
forward it to there if you think it's useful)

Adi,

I've found the problem. %GREAT_PATH%/etc/Gz__cint_make.bat (and
subsequently
Gz__cint_code_generated.mak)
fails unless all your source and destination models and config model are
on
the same drive as the GReaT installation
(i.e. I guess for most of you it's the C: drive - I've boldly ventured
to
place my project files onto drive D: and came
back with a bleeding nose).

Anyway, I've fixed the .bat file and sending it here in the attachment.
Please note that this file is strongly OS dependent:
my fix works for me under Win2K, but I'm 90% certain that it wouldn't
work
under 98 or NT, (hopefully it works with XP though).

Tivadar

Dear Tivadar,

I tried the transformation, it works on my machine. However, I can point
out
one semantic mistake in the rule you have created. You cannot have a
composition be create new while the composed object be bound. That's
illegal.

Now back your problem. You said that when you try to run the engine the
make
file gives an error message.

1. Do you have Visual Studio 6 with Service pack 5?
2. Did you add the <Visual Studio dir>\VC98\Bin to the user or system
path?

These are the most common problems we have seen if this doesn't solve
the
problem could you please run the command line version of the engine and
see
what happens. Go to the directory where the config file is and type

GRE config.mga

I hope that helps,
Adi

Adi,

Can you please have a look at these files ?

They contain an utterly simple example what I'm trying to get running
using
Great and I get all kinds of strange
errors (MAKE failing on running GR engine).
I guess I just overlooked something building the models, or something is
not
right with my computer.

Thanks,

Tivadar
