Are you using windows Vista?
You may try installing service pack 1 for VS2005 and see if that fixes
it.

Yes, I do have IE 7.  The installer I have is VC8.

I think there was some dependency on IE 7 from Office 2007.  That's
probably why it is installed (I don't use it much).
