I think Doug was referring to my earlier post regarding building under
Linux FC4 or later. I too had problems with the build environment and
decided to go looking through the config.am file to see if I could fix
the libtool project file which stopped working back around 5.5.1. It
turns out it is a honking 4000 lines of code. Ugh.
