Let us teleconference and take a measure of where we are. CMU has provided 1000 different
allocations that respect criticality (basically the 60 critical processes are allocated w/
WFD first, then the remaining 90 are allocated using WFD. This gives the base allocation,
and 999 more are obtained w/ "perturabation" from this base. Gaurav, please correct me if
I am wrong.)
We at ATL are studying these allocations and are running some simulations with all
critical processes at highest priority in the system, non critical ones do RMS,but are
always lower than critical class. We have provided these allocations to Adam Porter, he is
going to try to run them. Adam, if you do not or can not manipulate priorities you may
find this allocation to be of limited value. We at ATL will also be running our emulation
of GT4 in coming days, it will properly respect priorities and will record end to end
times, but this is new code so we don't quite have results yet.
Beyond all this, i would like an email from all players in the seedling as to their
program status. I realize that some of you are in the final days of the effort and are
winding down, perhaps, but if you can let me know I will be sure to know who all will be
active moving forward. It is my understanding that at DARPA the quad chart for the program
has been prepared and forwarded but it is too early to tell just what will happen or just
when. In any event, it is utmost important that we continue to make good technical
progress and continue to document good results on the wiki that will be useful in further,
in-depth presentations that are surely down the road. (Overall program story/vision should
keep getting stronger as we keep working.)
Please send me an email letting me know if you plan to or not plan to be on the teleconf.
Thanks.
Gautam
