[EISA] OMEA: Sprint 3 - UsrApp

Hey Kristine,
Let me try to clarify what should work for Sprint3...
Only the Labview "Active Display" need be hosted on the XP workstation.
This should work fine as long as you can mount on the XP workstation the
Linux directory that the UsrApp node might write data files too. We can
discuss tomorrow on our call.
AS you have chance, please see if the Labview GUI, as posted on the
collaboration website, runs on your XP workstation. The installation
notes explain that you will need install the NI run-time engine for the
GUI to run.
Thanks,
Hunt

Hi Kristine,
The UserApp is not using the LabView. It is just printing out the same
hello world message. You can call me, and we can try troubleshooting the
problem.

Suhaib,
The User App is not using the LabView GUI yet, right?
I tried it using the spawn parameter. It didn't work. In addition, I
don't think I need it, because previously James had told me: "?just make
sure you have enough node managers running on a host to match the
nodemap.dat file." So, I just need to ensure that I have 1 node manager
for foil and another for bathleth. Because you run localhost and are
simulating a multinode envorinment, you need to spawn multiple node
managers. Your stuff would probably work just spawning 2 since you only
have the Main and
Client-1 defined in the nodemap.dat file.
Also, I have never built the application on the PC. I've only built on
the Linux machines. If you want, I can call you this PM and you can tell
me how. We may need to update some COTS.

Hi Kristine,
I tried running the Sprint3.cdp file that you sent, and it was working
fine on my machine (Windows XP). Also, I believe the UserApp.mpc
includes the correct lib files.
Are you invoking the node execution manager correctly?
I have the following:
cuts_node.pl --localhost --port 10000 --spawn 4
>From the screenshot, I see that you are only spawning 2 processes (two
different machines). I am not sure if that would make a difference
(probably not). You may try that.
Can you try running these nodes on a single system ("uber-pc" only)?
I think the problem is "CORBA EXCEPTION: system exception, ID
'IDL:omg.org/CORBA/OBJECT_NOT_EXIST:1.0' "!
James/Will,
Have you guys seen this before?

Suhaib -
I have the version of EISA from SVN as of this AM. I copied it into the
lab environment and rebuilt it. No errors were reported during the
rebuild.
I tried to run the user app but have some errors.
What operating system is the user app supposed to run on?

Hi Kristine,.
The subversion has a newer version of the code with UserApp component.
You can try testing it on the Raytheon network. Please let me know if
you run into problems.
Regards,
Suhaib
