There are no current plans to remove that limitation.

Subject: [gme-users] Set: associate objects on different hierarchical
levels
Hi all,
the association type "Set" is a useful concept for my problem. Anyhow I
would prefer to associate objects on different hierarchical levels.
In Lesson 4 I found:
"Please note that the current version of GME supports sets in a rather
limited way: the set and its members must be siblings, and objects
represented by references cannot be added to the set. These limitations
will be eliminated in future releases."
Is this still the current status? - Could you name an approximate date
when this limitation might be eliminated?
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Florian Kraus
