This feature already exists in GReAT - create a connection and then
change its PatternCardinality to 0.

This feature also exists. You can define new classes in the crosslinks
paradigm, then you can associate these objects with either your
source/target etc... models. Having said this, I would like to add that,
there are improvements that still need to be made.

This is a good idea and we have it in our to-do list.

I agree that these checks should be added. I would probably put these
checks in the Interpreter.
