[great-users] Requirement of VC 6

Dear Nicolas,

Currently GReAT supports only VC6. It is among our plans to upgrade to
VC7 pretty soon.
We require VC6 to be installed because in the model transformation
specification, you can set/modify attributes of various model objects
using C/C++ code.
Another reason is that you can compile your transformation model into
C/C++ code, which runs ususally 10-100x faster than the interpreted
version.
To achieve these goals, we use the Visual Studio 6 C/C++ compiler,
linker, vcvars32.bat and a couple of other tools which come with VC6.

So VC6 is needed only to execute the transformations, but you are still
able to specify model transformations without installing VC6.
