Hi Kitty,
Yes, we are planning on having support for the enhanced library feature. The plan is to have existing interpreters work the same as before (if no namespace is added in GME, nothing in your interpreter should have to change).
> Specifically, will interpreters written for a sub-language work seamlessly
(or require minimal changes) within a composite language (once I change
ComponentConfig.h to register it for both paradigms)?
Not sure about this; Endre can probably answer (we are in the process of getting a stable version of GME with this new namespace feature so that we can begin testing and adapting Udm).
>Also, will GReAT work with target DSMLs which contain another language as a
library, or is there some enhancement required in this area?
GReAT already works with DSMLs attached to the transformation as libraries (see for instance the SignalFlow2FlatSF sample in which both metamodels are attached as libraries). As for use with the new GME namespace feature, we will have to see how Udm will accomdate it.
Thanks,
Daniel

Subject: [great-users] UDM changes necessitated with reworked Library support
Hi Folks,
Will the next release of UDM provide support for the enhanced library
implementation in GME to be released shortly? Will there be any
user-visible changes in existing interpreters written using UDM?
Specifically, will interpreters written for a sub-language work seamlessly
(or require minimal changes) within a composite language (once I change
ComponentConfig.h to register it for both paradigms)?
Also, will GReAT work with target DSMLs which contain another language as a
library, or is there some enhancement required in this area?
Thanks,
kitty.
