I am actually interested in translating one of the preexisting ESML
models (basicsp, modalsp, ...) into an XML document.  The generated XML
document should be valid according to the XML schema that is generated
by the UDM.exe tool.  I think Gabor answered my question.

I was unable to run the interpreter, though.  When I select "File -> Run
Interpreter -> UML 2 UDM/XMI Interpreter", it displays the following
error message: "Component execution failed".  I found a pregenerated
ESML UDM/XMI model included with OTIF and am now using it instead.
