[Esml-users] Difference between a Timer and and a Thread?

Hi,

What does it mean for a component subscription port to be hooked up to a
Thread vs the port being hooked up to a Timer?

I understand that the Timer causes an event to be periodically delivered
to the subscription port.  Does a Thread connected to a subscription
port also mean that an event is periodically delivered to the port?
