The GReAT manual claims that exporting UMT transformation rules to XML
is desirable in order to "divorce the transformation engine
implementation from its high-level language" (or something similar in
spirit).

OTOH, I've yet to see many examples of "beauty for the sake of beauty"
when it comes to the GME family (grin).  Does anyone remember the
_actual_ story behind this one?
