Alessio,


On top of what others have said, don't underestimate the advice in the
build instructions on using the "traditional" build environment...
which, oddly enough, isn't the typical autoconf/automake/libtool holy
trinity. You also want to be sure that you get the tarball which has MPC
already built on it.

Of further consideration, since the last version I made didn't seem to
have an install make target, you might want to get the latest RPM and
use that on your Ubuntu release (I know RPM on Ubuntu are like oil on
water).
